Discontent

Lately I have been feeling pretty discontent. What I think I need is something new and exciting but I haven’t figured out what just yet. I’m finally getting back into the habit of taking photos of my outfits which I am happy about because I love documenting my style.

However, I’ve been going through a bit of a style crisis as I feel like most of my clothes don’t suit me anymore. I’m unsure as to whether this is a temporary phase or if I should actually get rid of 1/2 of my clothing. I can’t afford to buy new clothes yet but I’ll probably do a post later this week to show what sort of style I’m after.

Lastly I am in the process of deciding between a name change and a new blog, I’ve been thinking about this for months but I think I’m finally ready to put my plans into action.

70’s Fashion inspiration

I had a blouse like this and those fruit pins that were in fashion in the early 1970's !

1974 ~ I had an outfit almost exactly like the one on the left - right down to the shoes. I LOVED those shoes.

I am loving the 70’s trend at the moment. Not that I’ve jumped on the bandwagon but just because I like clothes. I was browsing through Pinterest looking at outfits from the 70’s and thought I ought to share some of the things I came across.

So, what do you think of the 70’s trend revival?

2015 Trends: Fringe

I’ve never been a big fringe fan but apparently it’s on trend this year. That being said I feel like it is a trend I might try in 2015 because I’ve only ever had 1 fringe item and that was 7 years ago.

I think I’d quite like a bag as it is not as dramatic as jacket or a skirt. Earrings (like the ones above) are also great because they are pretty subtle and probably more versatile than a yellow jacket.

Topshop Wishlist

All items via the topshop.com

Here is a little collection of some things I’d pick up from Topshop, if I had about £400 to spend.

My favourite piece from the wishlist is the orange and blue coat. It is amazing but also costs £78 and I don’t have £78 to spend on a new coat.

My second favourite piece would have to be the first pair of black lace-up ankle boots as I love thick soles that I can stomp around in.

Enjoy your weekend!

It’s better in Black and White

This was going to be an outfit post but the pictures didn’t really turn out so I just put them in black and white. I really liked this outfit, without the necklace and the bag, it was very androgynous which is a style I’ve gotten to like a lot more recently.

When I’m taking outfit pictures I have a habit of leaning to the left when I pose, maybe that’s my trademark!

Any other way

wpid-collage_20140704201219020.jpg

Sometimes I find myself in situations where I wish things would have turned out any other way. I feel like each time this happens it’s a reminder to me that I don’t have as much control over things as I think  I do and also that I’m not always to blame.

However, on the flip-side, there are situations where things turn out so good that I wouldn’t want them any other way. For example crop tops and high-waisted jeans.

I wore high waisted jeans, a crop top and a floral+paisley shirt. I had my patent loafers on my feet with my little red bag at my side.

I wore this outfit to the market to buy fresh fruit for my smoothies because its so much cheaper than the super markets. I went to the city centre with my dad in the afternoon and the market was still pretty busy but unlike when I was younger I kind of liked the atmosphere.

lmg June: My style

I’d define my style as casual, I’m not ‘stylish’ or ‘trendy’ but I like to have fun with it. Black, grey and blue are my wardrobe essentials but I also love to add pops of colour or patterns.

I’ve always dressed in a way that expresses myself. The way you feel will always effect the way you dress and vice versa.

If you have a fashion/style blog, leave me a link in the comments.

That’s it for this post, thanks for reading!
