Just a few things I got on some of my recent shopping trips.
The black shorts were £4 from Primark as part of there workout range, however I didn’t get them for exercise instead I plan to wear them under short dresses in the summer.
The skirt was on sale for £5 in h&m as I was browsing through the print caught my eye.
Lastly the cropped cami for £1.99 also from h&m which I plan to wear with skirts and under sheer tops.
Towards the end of last summer I started feeling unwell. I spent a lot of days in bed crying. I felt sad about how certain things in my life had turned out but also angry at myself. I would wake up in the morning and count the hours until I could be asleep again because the days became unbearable. I felt like I had no control over anything, completely hopeless and that I was stuck inside this dark place with no escape.
I was struggling so badly that I did something I’ve never really done before. I asked for help.
Fast forward 5 months later and I feel the best I have felt in a really long time. It is only from having a great day from start to finish that I realised how far I have come since September. I don’t feel like I’m stuck any more and I’m starting to feel like I can cope with life. I’ve turned a page and started a new chapter in my life.
I wanted to share this because one of the hardest things for me was feeling like I was alone and that I was the only one going through this. Something that really helped me was reading online about other people who had gone through/were going through similar things to me. It felt like an invisible hand was being extended out to me.
If you can relate to this post then think of it as me extending my hand out to you and if you want to chat then firstname.lastname@example.org is my email or you can just leave a comment.
That’s all for now,
On the left is a floral crop top from New Look which I got on sale for £6, I probably won’t get much wear out of it this year as Autumn is on it’s way and it’s very much a summer piece. I love the floral pattern on it and even though it’s cropped it isn’t too short.
The next item is just a basic black stretch camisole from Primark which was only £2, I got it to wear underneath my sheer tops as sometimes a visible bra isn’t quite appropriate. The thing about this stretch camisole is that it is ridiculously stretchy so much so that in the pictures above it looks like a dress; an extremely short one none the less !
So the other day I went out and it looked pretty chilly so I thought it would be a good idea to wear this cardigan from Next, turns out looks really can be deceiving as it was actually kinda warm outside. I guess that’s my own fault though as I never actually check the weather I just look outside my window.
It’s crazy to think that summers pretty much over and it’s back to school season, though not for me as I’m not going to Uni this year, for a bunch of reasons. I’m really looking forward to Autumn though as it’s my favourite season!
Even in the summer I find myself drawn to darker colours. Black is just such an easy colour to wear and style. These floral pants are actually a harem style but I wear them slightly higher up as I’m not a fan of the bagginess.
With a fitted black tank and brightly coloured shoes the outfit is complete. Its perfect for a chilled day spent outside and you could easily pair it with a cardigan or casual blazer if it gets chilly.
This is one of my favourite dresses despite the fact that I rarely wear red. I love the length, pockets, tie at the waist and lastly the metal zip. Its pretty old I got it from next a while back.
The name of this post is actually named after a song I wrote inspired by an episode of bomb girls. The song was about a person struggling to get by in life who puts on a front that everyone believes.
I only wear this dress in summer so don’t tend to wear a jacket with it. I tend to just wear it with sandals or converse and then maybe a necklace as the dress is very simple. If I wear it on a colder day I’d probably wear it with a my h&m bomber jacket or my black blazer.
The dress comes down just below the knee but I’m thinking of cutting it into a mini dress, as I think it would make it more versatile for me to style.
This blouse was one of those that I bought to add some colour to my wardrobe then thought about returning because I thought I would never wear it. there’s quite a lot on it with the black lines, floral and paisley.
That being said it eventually grew on me and it’s one of my favourite summer pieces. It’s so easy to wear as you can just throw it on over any basics. In this outfit I paired it with a basic black body-con dress from h&m.
However you could just as easily wear it with a camisole and shorts, jeans or a skirt.
