Lately I have been feeling pretty discontent. What I think I need is something new and exciting but I haven’t figured out what just yet. I’m finally getting back into the habit of taking photos of my outfits which I am happy about because I love documenting my style.
However, I’ve been going through a bit of a style crisis as I feel like most of my clothes don’t suit me anymore. I’m unsure as to whether this is a temporary phase or if I should actually get rid of 1/2 of my clothing. I can’t afford to buy new clothes yet but I’ll probably do a post later this week to show what sort of style I’m after.
Lastly I am in the process of deciding between a name change and a new blog, I’ve been thinking about this for months but I think I’m finally ready to put my plans into action.
This particular outfit almost didn’t make the blog because the sun messed it up. However after some editing it turned out alright.
The cardigan is from h&m for just £7.99 which is awesome, it’s really light and the length of it is perfect. The cami and jeans are old essentials that make up some of my best outfits. What I like about this outfit is that I looked good and felt confident. Never underestimate the power of the right clothing combination.
These past few days I’ve been trying to reconnect with some of my old college friends as since we all finished last summer I have been pretty distant. As I’ve mentioned here and there over the past couple of months, last year my mental health was in terrible condition. I spent a lot of time alone because I didn’t really want people to see me as I was.
Anyway the point is that things are very different now and I feel a happiness I don’t think I’ve ever felt before. I laugh every single day and I’m so grateful. Each day is full of little victories and I am the best I have ever been.
Just a few things I got on some of my recent shopping trips.
The black shorts were £4 from Primark as part of there workout range, however I didn’t get them for exercise instead I plan to wear them under short dresses in the summer.
The skirt was on sale for £5 in h&m as I was browsing through the print caught my eye.
Lastly the cropped cami for £1.99 also from h&m which I plan to wear with skirts and under sheer tops.
After looking through a few of my outfit photos I realised that many of my outfits consist of black and grey. Despite this I do actually like wearing bright colours like the one in the top above.
Of course I ended up wearing grey trousers because they are an old favourite of mine. To make the outfit a little less boring I wore a denim vest over the top.
I quite liked the double collar on this outfit and I think the colours and pattern work well together, creating a very chilled spring outfit.
So, what are your first thoughts of my outfit?
At the risk of sounding vain I think its really great. I love it. Its really comfortable and chilled.
The semi-sheer brocade tank is one of my favourite tops I got it from New Look ages ago on sale for £3. The blazer I’m wearing is kinda like a velvety fabric with a faint pinstripe and I got it from a pop up shop last year.
The weather was beautiful (on the day I wore this outfit), it was so nice to see bright skies and sunshine instead of grey clouds and pouring rain.
Hurrah, for spring is here!
Floral is one of those trends that will always be ‘on trend’ for spring and summer, I guess that makes it timeless. I think the idea of 3D florals is a way for designers to do something different with the same old same floral print, they’ve taken it to the next level.
I really like this trend, it’s one that I’ll definitely be embracing.
So what do you think?
Will you be rockin’ 3D Florals this SS14?
Let me know in the comments.
So I live in England and its currently still winter but I’m really looking forward to the warmer weather.
This week I was looking through the Stylist Magazine and they had a section on upcoming spring trends.
My first thought was ‘blog about it’ and that is what I am doing.
So without further ado:
SPRING TRENDS ’14
These obviously aren’t all the trends but I just decided to focus on a few.
Other SS14 trends: crop tops, sheer (prints and layering), blush pink and white boyfriend trousers to name a few
I’m going to be doing lots more fashion related posts focusing on each trend one by one with outfit ideas and more.
If you like the sound of that then click follow, to be in the know (ooooh that rhymed!).
If you’ve also done a post on next seasons trends, I’d love to see it so feel free to leave a link in the comments. Or just leave a comment letting me know what upcoming trends your looking forward to trying.
