Below is a list of some songs that I’ve been obsessed with this year. There were times this year when any one of these songs I could have listened to on repeat all day. I think the ones I was most obsessed with would be: one nation under a groove, body party, every little step, lucky and please don’t go.
Christina Millan ft Ja Rule- Get Away
Ciara- Body Party
Bobby Brown- Every little step
Chris Brown- Fine china
Funkadelic- Standing on the verge of getting it on
Rizzle Kicks- Young and hot
The Supremes and The Four Tops- Everyday people
TGT- Please don’t go
TGT- Burn out
Shalamar- A night to remember
Funkadelic- One nation under a groove
The Emotions- Best of my love
Ice Cube- Check yo self
Lorde- The love club
Kool and the gang- Fresh
Sam Cooke- Twistin’ the night away
So that’s not all the songs I’ve obsessed over this year, but I didn’t want to bombard you with too much. I’d love it if you could take a listen to just one song and maybe even leave a comment if you like!
The Carrie Diaries
Styled to Rock
I’ve probably missed out a vital show but I cant think of it right now…
AS exam season and a whole lot of stress.
I had a very embarrassing experience involving a guy I like, a chocolate cookie and some loose change.
Making progress with ‘Charming’ and just life in general.
Lots of birthdays and starting ‘intense’ revision for upcoming exams
The start of exam season, like January I was stressed but this time their were more exams which= more pressure!
My birthday and the month I made a declaration of the semi-romantic variety which I still regret, at least now I can laugh about it though.
End of term and the beginning of summer YAAAYYY!!!
Volunteering and a holiday off to West Sussex… “good times!”
The birth of snippetsofthislife and the start of 2nd year, this was a good month filled with great moments.
I was pretty busy and I did a lot of thinking and writing about my life but I think my favourite part was that I started getting to know a guy and I quite like him (in a MAJOR way!).
I’ve realised I’m much more confident than I used to be, I worry a lot less about how others view me, I’ve finally accepted that not everyone will adore me and their are lots of people that like me just as I am Xx
Optimism, festivities and planning for 2014
So that’s my 2013 obviously I couldn’t mention everything so I just chose some of my favourite moments.
I’m planning to do a few more end of the year posts, so look out!
Christmas day was OK, I guess I’m just not that into it really.
I was super happy with the presents I got though, especially the Sewing machine- “Thanks, Dad!”.
My Christmas Presents
+ a few other little things
On Boxing day me and my sister went sales shopping, the city centre was crazy busy, so much in fact that people had to queue outside Next and Hollister.
I got things from h&m and New Look which I will show you in another post.
Which brings me to today.
Its been a pretty chilled day the most productive thing I’ve done is maths revision (past papers), which I quite like sort-of.
Anyway I cant believe that in 5 days it will be 2014.
I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this before but I’ve decided that for the whole of January I’m not going to eat any meat. I’ve thought about becoming vegetarian before but I just experiment first.
I think it will be a great way to start the new year and hopefully I’ll become a little healthier as currently I eat too much protein and not enough fibre/fruit + vegetables.
I’ll probably do a weekly journal sort of thing to share with you how my vegetarian January is going.
That’s it for now, but there is so much more to come…
A leather journal
I’ve kept a proper journal since I was about 10 years old. In the next couple of weeks I’ll probably finish the one I have. I usually just use a standard notebook but for some reason now I just really want a leather one.
I have a small amount of earrings,I’m quite picky when I choose them. I feel like tear drop earrings often look quite sophisticated. I can just imagine wearing them with like, a magnificent ball gown or something.
A small side bag
The one below is Saint Laurent, I just used it as an example. When it comes to bags I don’t buy them that often but I would like to think that I need a side bag. I’d want one for casual and one for when I get dressed up (not very often).
Fashion related books
So my college library has some amazing books but I would love to have some of my own. I would want one on Chanel, Dior and YSL. Also a few other general fashion ones.
A vegetarian cookbook
So firstly, no I am not vegetarian if that’s what you were thinking. this year over the summer I had this urge to go vegetarian but it didn’t happen. Now I’m thinking of trying it out for the whole of January so a cookbook would come in handy for me.
A singer sewing machine
Their are 2 sewing machines in my house one of which is a wind-up, the other one is pretty old as well. I love sewing and I would want a new machine but their pretty expensive. If I do end up getting one that will be my big (and probs only) present.
If you have a Christmas wishlist, I’d love to see it so be sure to leave a link in the comments!
Until next time…
This time last year college was so different in comparison to now. Honestly for the first 2-3 months I didn’t really like it. The main reason being that I didn’t really know anyone and the people I did know I didn’t know very well (I only knew about 4 people out of about 1000 1st years).
I remember having to spend my frees in the library, even when I had no work to do because I didn’t have anyone to hang out with. At lunches I would walk into the refectory, frantically searching for a familiar face. In general I felt like I didn’t belong and I started to regret not going to the same college as my secondary school friends.
I made a grand effort in all my classes to get to know people and make new friends. It was actually pretty fun getting to know people, I actually found it much easier getting to know guys than girls which is a little odd, as I went to an all girls secondary school.
So fast forward to 24th October 2013, so much has changed. I have lots of amazing friends, I’m enjoying all the subjects I study and I feel like I fit in.
So today in particular was a SUPER day which I will blog about in another post as I have a lot to say.
So this is not necessarily what’s on trend, this is just a long list of things I need (or want) to purchase for A/W 2013. I mentioned a couple of posts ago I would do a A/W wishlist type thing so here it is:
Chunky Cardigans, I’m thinking are Ox-blood or a berry hue.
Long socks. I think they look great styled above, over tights with ankle boots.
A maxi skirt with a slit. I would wear it with lace tights and chunky ankle boots. The colour I would go for would be black as it goes with everything and I love the colour.
Long sleeved patterned shirts. Yep I know the image above is short sleeved but I chose it more for the print. I’ll probably look in the menswear section for shirts or maybe charity shops.
Shorts. These ones I’m in love with. I like that they aren’t hot pants because I’m quite body conscious. When it comes to shorts I don’t like them: super short, with frayed hems or saggy pockets!
A faux fur gilet (vest). I remember when I was about 10 or 11 I had a grey faux fur vest and I loved it. I think they look so stylish and chic.
I have an obsession with ankle boots. I really want a pair like the ones above black leather and quite chunky. I think I would prefer buckles to laces though (I still can’t tie my laces the adult way!).
Last but by no means least, a denim vest. I think they are great so versatile and they look great layered over chunky sweater when its cold and tank tops in the warmer seasons.
I hope you enjoyed this post, comment and let me know your thoughts!
