I had a blouse like this and those fruit pins that were in fashion in the early 1970's !

1974 ~ I had an outfit almost exactly like the one on the left - right down to the shoes. I LOVED those shoes.

I am loving the 70’s trend at the moment. Not that I’ve jumped on the bandwagon but just because I like clothes. I was browsing through Pinterest looking at outfits from the 70’s and thought I ought to share some of the things I came across.

So, what do you think of the 70’s trend revival?

Little bags

So these are my little bags.

They were all very inexpensive with prices ranging from £3.50-£5.99.

I still haven’t figured out how I’ll sign off at the end of my posts, how about…

Things for spring+summer

Just a few things I got on some of my recent shopping trips.

The black shorts were £4 from Primark as part of there workout range, however I didn’t get them for exercise instead I plan  to wear them under short dresses in the summer.

The skirt was on sale for £5 in h&m as I was browsing through the print caught my eye.

Lastly the cropped cami for £1.99 also from h&m which I plan to wear with skirts and under sheer tops.

2015 Trends: Fringe

Images via Pinterest

I’ve never been a big fringe fan but apparently it’s on trend this year. That being said I feel like it is a trend I might try in 2015 because I’ve only ever had 1 fringe item and that was 7 years ago.

I think I’d quite like a bag as it is not as dramatic as jacket or a skirt. Earrings (like the ones above) are also great because they are pretty subtle and probably more versatile than a yellow jacket.

My winter scarf

I think it is nice to have staple pieces to get you through the season for me it has been this scarf. I bought it towards the end of last year from Primark for £5 and I have been pleasantly surprised.

I have been wearing it all the time which you will soon see in upcoming outfit posts and it really does keep me warm (gotta love synthetics!).  The colours on the scarf go really well with a minimalist palette of black, blue and grey but also with shades of red.

This year I decided I wanted to be a style blogger because I love clothes, dressing up and experimenting. From blogging my outfits I learned to make better use of what was in my wardrobe for fear of posting the same #ootd twice!

For me style is about self-expression and this year I wore outfits I wouldn’t have worn in the past. I used to worry about the way I dressed quite a lot because I didn’t have much confidence.

My style has always been very ‘here and there’ because I see it as dressing up. I have never wanted to look like everyone else because that isn’t fun. I can go from dressing in shades of grey to wearing a bunch of bright colours that clash.

I have bought quite a few new things recently  and I can’t wait to share the outfits in 2015.

See you on the flipside :-p

Fawn favourites

Just over a month ago I received a really nice email from Iram the founder and director of Fawn Clothing, a UK based online store. I hadn’t heard of Fawn before so I headed over to fawnclothing.com to take a look.

In all honesty a lot of the clothing wasn’t really to my style however I did really like the selection of handbags they had. The skirt isn’t something I would usually like but I found that the pattern just caught my eye and I really like it quite a lot (I may have to invest in a patterned pencil skirt).
