Songs of 2013

Below is a list of some songs that I’ve been obsessed with this year. There were times this year when any one of these songs I could have listened to on repeat all day. I think the ones I was most obsessed with would be: one nation under a groove, body party, every little step, lucky and please don’t go.

Christina Millan ft Ja Rule- Get Away

Ciara- Body Party

Bobby Brown- Every little step

Chris Brown- Fine china

Funkadelic- Standing on the verge of getting it on

Lorde- Royals

Rizzle Kicks- Young and hot

The Supremes and The Four Tops- Everyday people

TGT- Please don’t go

TGT- Burn out

Shalamar- A night to remember

Funkadelic- One nation under a groove

The Emotions- Best of my love

Ciara- Promise

Tich- Dumb

FranKo- Lucky

FranKo- Vienna

Ice Cube- Check yo self

Lorde- The love club

Kool and the gang- Fresh

Sam Cooke- Twistin’ the night away

TLC

So that’s not all the songs I’ve obsessed over this year, but I didn’t want to bombard you with too much. I’d love it if you could take a listen to just one song and maybe even leave a comment if you like!

Snippets of 2013

JANUARY

AS exam season and a whole lot of stress.

FEBRUARY

I had a very embarrassing experience involving a guy I like, a chocolate cookie and some loose change.

MARCH

Making progress with ‘Charming’ and just life in general.

APRIL

Lots of birthdays and starting ‘intense’ revision for upcoming exams

MAY

The start of exam season, like January I was stressed but this time their were more exams which= more pressure!

JUNE

My birthday and the month I made a declaration of the semi-romantic variety which I still regret, at least now I can laugh about it though.

JULY

End of term and the beginning of summer YAAAYYY!!!

AUGUST

Volunteering and a holiday off to West Sussex… “good times!”

SEPTEMBER

The birth of snippetsofthislife and the start of 2nd year, this was a good month filled with great moments.

OCTOBER

I was pretty busy and I did a lot of thinking and writing about my life but I think my favourite part was that I started getting to know a guy and I quite like him (in a MAJOR way!).

NOVEMBER

I’ve realised I’m much more confident than I used to be, I worry a lot less about how others view me, I’ve finally accepted that not everyone will adore me and their are lots of people that like me just as I am Xx

DECEMBER

Optimism, festivities and planning for 2014

So that’s my 2013 obviously I couldn’t mention everything so I just chose some of my favourite moments.

I’m planning to do a few more end of the year posts, so look out!

Daily Snippets: I adore the friendly sales assistant

The one that is chatty and smiles,

And I guess he’s a little cute too.

He asks about me and then tells me something about himself.

He thinks I’m at uni and asks what I study, I’m flattered although, he is mistaken (I’m only 17).

The book and receipt are in the bag, that means its time to go.

I say “Thanks” and mean it then walk away with a smile on my face.

StepbyStep: My Festive Nails

So this is a step by step of how I painted my nails for Christmas day.lmg-pic-0107

  1. First I painted my nails in 2 coats of Peach Manicure (Natural Collection).
  2. I then painted the top third of my nails in  Laquered (Topshop) twice.
  3. After this I used Black magic (Technic) over the red to make it sparkle.
  4. Lastly, to neaten up my nails I drew a line in Black between the red and peach.

Christmas day was OK, I guess I’m just not that into it really.

I was super happy with the presents I got though, especially the Sewing machine- “Thanks, Dad!”.

+ a few other little things

———

On Boxing day me and my sister went sales shopping,  the city centre was crazy busy, so much in fact that people had to queue outside Next and Hollister.

I got things from h&m and New Look which I will show you in another post.

———

Which brings me to today.

Its been a pretty chilled day the most productive thing I’ve done is maths revision (past papers), which I quite like sort-of.

Anyway I cant believe that in 5 days it will be 2014.

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this before but I’ve decided that for the whole of January I’m not going to eat any meat. I’ve thought about becoming vegetarian before but I just experiment first.

I think it will be a great way to start the new year and hopefully I’ll become a little healthier as currently I eat too much protein and not enough fibre/fruit + vegetables.

I’ll probably do a weekly journal sort of thing to share with you how my vegetarian January is going.

That’s it for now, but there is so much more to come…

T’was the night before Christmas…

…all the presents where wrapped up and under the tree with Christmas music playing on the radio and festivity in the air.

Well errr I’m not really sure how it goes…

So right now I’m actually just hanging out at home listening to TLCs first album ‘Oooh on the TLC tip’ and lovin’ it, whilst waiting for my nails to dry.

My original plans for Christmas Eve were to go out with my friends for Christmas drinks, but unfortunately for me my parents don’t like me going out doing that sort of thing so I’m staying home and not being a ‘rebel’ child (actually since I’m 17 1/2 I’m practically an adult but whatever).

Anyway I’m right now I’m feeling festive and ‘plein de vie’ (full of life)!

p.s. Ok I’ll admit I’m a little excited  😮 !!!!!
